Application of chelating agents in cadmium(II) removal from aqueous solutions
Two com. anion exchange resins were used for studying the removal of Cd2+ ions from their aq. solns. under static and dynamic conditions in presence of EDTA, NTA and IDS. The polystyrene-based quaternary Me3N+ groups-contg. Lewatit MonoPlus M500 resin was found the most efficient one in the Cd removal in presence of EDTA (>98% after 10 min). The methods for removal of Cd ions from wastewaters were also briefly reviewed (11 refs.).
