초록 | A highly adhesive homo-polypropylene (HPP) was manufactured by means of an electron beam radiation technology. The mutual correlations between experimental results, such as adhesive ability, graft degrees and graft yields, average molecular weights and thermal behaviors, were also studied. The highly adhesive polypropylene could be obtained by grafting of maleicanhydride(MAH) onto polymeric chains of HPP, under a possible suppression of ungrafted MAH and scission of polymer chains. To suppress a scission of polymer chains due to oxidative degradation could be performed by low doses of less than 10kGy. In this study, even though grafting reaction in HPP could proceed during a melt-mixing at 180oC in the existence of MAH and DCP, electron beam irradiation further decreased ungrafted MAH amounts, resulting in much more improvement of its adhesive ability. The graft degree gave a large effect on the adhesive ability of the modified HPP under low contents of ungrafted MAH. Therefore, the adhesive ability of modified HPP is linearly proportional to a multiple of both grating degree and grafting yield. |
