제목 The development of the integrated Micro-Channel Reformer using (LTCC)
초록 Application of fuel cell-powered systems recently has accepted increasing attention because of their theoretical high fuel efficiency and low environmental impact. One of the most prospecting type of fuel cell is the proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) fueled with hydrogen. There are two processes available for extracting Hydrogen from Methanol: a) steam reforming (SR) and b) partial oxidation (PROX). CO concentration in the hydrogen feed, which causes poisoning of the the PEMFC anode electrocatalyst, must be kept under 1–100 ppm. We have integrated Micro-reformer processor system using low temperature co-fired ceramics (LTCC) process. Because LTCC is superior to other materials principally due to its high thermal and chemical stability, simpler fabrication process is available. For PROX reforming, Pt-based catalysts have been prepared by wet-impregnation and electroless Pt-plating. A commercial Cu/ZnO/Al2O3 catalyst was used for steam reforming. To calculate the conversion, input and outlet flow rates were measured by flow-meter after condensing un-reacted steam and methanol. The outlet gas was analyzed by Gas Chromatography. The conversions of Methanol and Carbon monoxide were reached 80% and 70%, respectively.
