Treatment of lube oils with fiber materials
Polymer fibers from secondary thermoplasts [polypropylene, poly(ethylene terephthalate)] and basalt fiber were used as filter materials to treat used motor oils to remove water and particulate contaminants. It was shown that basalt fiber is the most technologically effective and efficient. Modification of this fiber with clay and carbamide improves its performance characteristics.
