A sonochemical approach to the synthesis of crystalline selenium nanowires in solutions and on solid supports
Single crystalline selenium nanowires have been successfully synthesized using a sono-chemical process. These uniform nanowires can be grown in solutions or on substrates at room temperature with yields approaching 100 %. The nanowires could also be directed to grow into self-connecting networks (see Fuure), and to form electrically continuous connections between two electrodes.
