CATALYTIC PROPERTIES OF MOLYBDENA ALUMINAOXIDE CATALYSTS
In the present work studies were made on the deuteration of cyclohexadiene over reduced and sulfided molybdena-alumina. The deuteration reaction goes in two steps. At first cyclohexene is formed and this is further hydrogenated to cyclohexane. The formation of cyclohexadiene-d4 can be explained by equal exchange in the four vinyl positions of cyclohexadiene over the coordinatively unsaturated sites of the molybdena. The sulfied molybdena-alumina exhibited a much lower hydrogenation rate for the cyclohexadiene.
