Diastereoselective additions of ethynyl Grignard reagent to erythrulose derivatives
Through systematic changes in reaction conditions and in the use of Ti(OiPr)(4), the typical stereochemical outcome of ethynylmagnesiutn bromide on alpha,beta-O-isopropylidene-erythrulose derivatives has been reversed with exceptional levels of control.
