Mass transfer kinetics for interfacially perturbed vertical liquid films
Liquid side mass transfer has been investigated for pure carbon dioxide absorption on interfacially perturbed vertical water liquid films. Perturbation was made by dropping low surface tension alcohol solutions on water film surface. The type of alcohol solutions, the dropping frequency and the number of the dropping points determine the increase of the mass transfer rate over the unperturbed state. Values obtained for liquid mass transfer coefficient in the CO2-water absorption present the evolution with operating parameters such as Ioan (1996) and Hikita (1959).
