Innovative approach to develop Gulf of Mexico oil production
Recent deepwater discoveries in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico (GOM), where the nearest pipeline infrastructure may be more than 100 miles away, require innovative development, particularly for marginally sized fields. This development concept is for a water depth of 6,650 ft, and it consists of a dry-tree unit (DTU) with a disconnectable turret-moored floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) vessel in dose proximity.
