Preparation of Nano Metal Carbide Powders by Electric Explosion of Conductors in Liquid Hydrocarbons
E-mail:
The phase and elemental compositions of nanopowders prepared by electric explosions of tungsten and aluminum wires in liquid hydrocarbons have been investigated. The output of saturated carbide phases increases with increasing density and dynamic viscosity of the working medium. By means of electric explosions of tungsten wires in liquid hydrocarbons, highly dispersed tungsten carbide powders could be prepared having particle sizes ranging from 0.1 to 5 μm.
