The degradation of reactive dyes, which consisted of a mixture solution of remazol blue(19) and remazol black(5), was studied using catalytic wet air oxidation process. To study decomposition efficiency and by-products formation of reactive dye in the catalytic wet air oxidation process, dosage of catalyst [Pt/TiO2 (wt.ratio : 5/100)] and reaction temperature were controlled. In the mixture sample, when the reaction times was 4 h at 250 ℃ with 1.0 g/L of catalyst, remaining percentages of both total organic carbon (TOC) and ultraviolet absorbance were 4 percent. This wet air oxidation process using catalyst was found to be an effective method for decomposition of the mixture sample solution of remazol blue(19) and remazol black(5).
