The Snake River debate continues
The debate continues on modifying dams on the Columbia and Snake Rivers to improve spawning areas and reduce the mortality rate of salmon. According to opponents of the dams, more salmon spawned in the rivers and their numbers were greater prior to construction of the dams. Others believe that the mortality rate of the fish is no greater today then before the dams were built.
