Fine granular chalk was granulated in a lab. plate granulator (diam. of 0.5 m) after addn. of wetting liq. to the tumbling bed for 1-12 min to study the nuclei mass transfer. Aq. solns. of potato starch at concns. of 3-6% as well as a H2O were sep. dosed at a const. flow rate as nozzle-generated droplets with a size of approx. 5-6 mm. The sieve anal. and mass balance were used to det. changes in the mass of nuclei and mass transfer.
