Impact of diacetate and digluconate chlorhexidine salts on strength properties of water-activated glass-polyalkenoate cement
Chlorhexidine diacetate salt powder (CHA) and chlorhexidine digluconate salt fluid (CHG) were sep. incorporated into a H2O-activated glass-polyalkenoate cement compd. Vickers hardness and diam. tensile strength were detd. The addn. of CHA or CHG into the cement did not result in any significant change in its properties. The CHA was recommended as the cement modifier ensuring potential tooth protection from cariogenic bacteria.
