Evaluation the Separation Performance of Various Gases for Polysulfone Hollow Fiber Membrane Module as a Function of Stage Cut
E-mail:,
The high pressure hollow fiber membrane module consisting of polysulfone for gas separation field was successfully fabricated. The fabricated hollow fiber was used to confirm the permeance of various gases. The permeance of 10 types of various gases such as O2, CO2, CH4, H2, etc. was measured for module of 75 cm2 membrane extent using the 1/4 sus. The CO2 and H2 gas permeaance of hollow fiber membrane module (Airrane Inc.) were about 53.92 and 78.63 GPU (1 GPU=1×10-6 cm3 (STP)/(cm2 s cm Hg)), respectively. Also, the permeance of N2, O2, CH4, argon, olefin, paraffin gas, etc. was lower than those of CO2 and H2 gases, relatively. As results, the selectivity of CO2/N2, and CO2/CH4 was appears to be as 44.92 and 35.95, respectively. Although CH4 concentration increased with increasing stage cut, the recovery efficiency decreased, relatively. Also, the removal efficiency was tended to increase regardless of pressure. The performance such as concentration, recovery efficiency, and removal efficiency of CH4 and CO2 gas was confirmed according to stage cut.
