Comparison of oxygen index and combustion heats of some epoxy compositions
A com. epoxy resin was reinforced by addn. of nanosized org. modified montmorillonite, AlO(OH), oligomeric Me ethylphosphate or/and melamine polyphosphate, cured with triethylenetetraamine and studied for O-2 index, combustion heat and sp. temps. (termogravimetry). The addn. of melamine polyphosphate (10% by mass) resulted in the highest increase in O-2 index (by 18%) and the highest decrease in the combustion heat (by 18%). The highest surface temp. at the autoignition was found after addn. of montmorillonite (2% by mass) and melamine polyphosphate (5% by mass).
