Successive selection of active slip systems by the least incompatibility criterion and corresponding texture simulation
A criterion has been formulated to select one by one active slip systems carrying out altogether a given crystal strain rate. The strain rate residual, until it vanishes, is assumed to be minimum with each next selection involving one more system 5). The rolling texture of fee polycrystal, thereby predicted, is very similar to that of minimum shear criterion by Taylor. At the same time, the present approach proves to be computationally much more efficient and particularly flexible when taking into account the strain rate variation among grains or/and grain deformation by less than five slip systems.
