The supplement of diet. Part 1. Common parsley petroselinum sativum (Hoffm.)
The parsley seeds (Petroselinum sativum var. foliosum and var. radicosum) were extd. with EtOH, Me2CO, C(6)H(1)p(4), soya oil and CO2 in a liq. and supercrit. state to recover apiol. Supercrit. CO2 was found the most powerful solvent for the apiol extn. (apiol content 0.681%., extn. yield 3.37%.). The soya oil was also a good solvent for the extn. The seeds of both parsley variants were found to be efficient raw materials for prodn. of apiol.
