Ni-10%Re and Co-10%Re alloy coatings and Ni-powd. Re and Co-powd. Re composite coatings were deposited on 3 x 50-mm Ni eletrodes. The electrodes coated with a Co + 2% powd. Re composite and with a Co-10%Re alloy at 1 and 0.5 Aldm(2), resp., showed the lowest H overpotential, < 0.2 Vatan electrolysis c.d. of 100 A/dm(2). The alloy-coated electrodes were more resistant to corrosion (in M NaOH at 25 degrees C) and had a high electrocatalytical activity.
