Modeling of air flow and heat transfer in compact heat exchangers
Air flow and heat transfer in the fin and tube heat exchanger are simulated using CFD program Fluent. The results obtained from the CFD simulation and from an analytical mathematical model of the heat exchanger which uses empirical corellations for the heat transfer coefficients are compared. The performance of compact heat exchangers with circular and oval tubes in in-line and staggered tube arrangements is simulated
