Polycarbonates(PCs) are one of the most important available high temperature polymers. PCs demonstrate utility in a variety of applications because of excellent thermal stability, solvent resistance, mechanical, and electric properties. In recent years, there has been considerable interest in the synthesis and characterization of compounds containing bio-based monomer. In this work, we evaluated catalytic activity of different catalysts system using gas chromatography in the early stage of the melt transesterification of three different kinds of diol such as isosorbide, bisphenol A, and cyclohexane dimethanol. Catalytic activity in melt polymerization process highly depended on the structure of alcohol and basicity of catalyst. |
