A synthetic method for quarternary ammonium salts as eco-friendly surfactant through the reaction of 3-alkoxy-2-hydroxypropyl chloride or alkyl 2,3-epoxypropyl ether with tertiary amines |
| 초록 |
Alkyl alcohols derived from fatty acids with different degrees of carbon numbers were reacted with epichlorohydrin to provide 3-alkoxy-2-hydroxypropyl chlorides in the presence of H2SO4 and alkyl 2,3-epoxypropyl ether with equimolar amount of NaOH. These chlorides were subsequently reacted with various tertiary amine derivatives with long alkyl groups to afford corresponding quarteranary ammonium salts. The reaction products were unambiguously characterized via 1D & 2D NMR spectroscopic methods . These salts can serve as environment-friendly surfactants. |
