Analysis of VOCs from Fuser Cover in Laser Printer using SPME GC/MS |

Recently many studies are performed to improve the indoor air quality. In the case of laser printer, the temperature of fuser lamp is raised to be printed on paper up to 280℃. Plastic parts around this lamp such as fuser cover, gears are exposed to high temperature and generate VOCs. Because they induce unpleasant odor and some of them are not good for human health, VOC problems must be improved. Fuser cover is made of PET composite to resist heat but it is more influenced by heat because of very close location to a heat source. In this study we investigated VOCs emitted from fuser cover to find out the main compound causing unpleasant odors using SPME GC/MS. |
