제목 | Synthesis of Hierarchical ZnO Nanoparticles for Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells |
초록 | Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells (DSSC) have attracted considerable attention due to energy source reduction and higher energy production costs. The zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles have recently been explored as a promising material for electrode in dye-sensitized solar cells. The advantages of ZnO are high electron mobility, wide band gap (3.2 eV) and easier modification of the surface structure by solution growth and wet-chemical methods. In this work, we synthesized hierarchical ZnO nanoparticles with secondary colloidal spheres 200 ~ 300 nm in diameter consisting of primary nanoparticles ~20 nm in diameter. The hierarchical ZnO nanoparticles would promote light scattering through the presence of secondary colloidal spheres. The overall light conversion efficiency could be improved by enhanced photon absorption via internal multi-scattering in hierarchical ZnO electrode. The structural, optical properties of ZnO nanoparticles were characterized by X-ray Diffraction (XRD), UV spectrometer, Photoluminescence (PL), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM). Furthermore, overall light conversion efficiency of fabricated ZnO solar cells was measured. |
