Gamma Irradiation Effects on Metronidazole as an Antibacterial Agent |
| 초록 |
The radiation sterilization of pharmaceuticals is now a well established technology. The purpose of this study was to investigate the stability and degradation of metronidazole, antibacterial agent, in the polymeric gels after gamma irradiation. The formation of radiolytic products was determined by Smart-high performance liquid chromatography (Smart-HPLC). Samples were irradiated with gamma rays emitted by a radioactive isotope (60Co) at the dose rate of 10 kGy/h. |
