제목 | Synthesis of PMMA/clay nanocomposited powders by suspension polymerization for bone cement |
초록 | Polymer/clay nanocomposites have attracted considerable attention as a method of enhancing polymer properties and extending their utility. Polymer/clay nanocomposites can be prepared by three main methods such as exfoliation-adsorption, melt intercalation and in-situ polymerization. In this study, PMMA/clay nanocomposited powders for medical application as bone cements were synthesized using a lipophilized smectic clay by the suspension polymerization. The intercalation spacing in the nanocomposites and the degree of dispersion of these composites were investigated with X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy, respectively. Polymer particle size distribution and molecular weight were analyzed by SEM, particle size analyzer and GPC. |
