Synthesis and characterizations of Ba0.5Sr0.5Co0.8Fe0.2O3δ composite used as a cathode material for solid oxide fuel cells |

Ba0.5Sr0.5Co0.8Fe0.2O3-δ (BSCF) porous cathode materials for LT-SOFCs were synthesized as powders using CC-EDTA sol-gel method and nanowires using electrospinning technique. Results showed that they were formed as perovskite oxides. BSCF using CC-EDTA formed in powder with the particle size of 1-10um and the specific surface area of 1.0m2 /g. However, the BSCF using electrospinning technique obtained a nanowires structure with diameter in range of 100-200nm and a high porosity with the specific surface area of 2.4m2 /g. The area specific resistance value of BSCF nanowires cathode is 0.234Ωcm2 at 600ºC whereas that of BSCF powders cathode is 1.493Ωcm2 under similar conditions. |
