제목 Preparation of activated carbon supported TiO2 nanocomposite with enhanced dye degrading activity
초록 The TiO2 is one of the most appealing metal oxide because of low cost, non-toxicity, outstanding stability, great surface area, and wide band gap semiconductor (anatase: 3.2 eV, rutile: 3.0 eV). When TiO2 particles are illuminated with which they degrade organic molecules absorbed on the surface of a photo catalysts. The bond between the carbon material and the metal oxide is an effective method for decrease the electron hole pairrecombination rate and prevent the agglomeration of oxide particles.

In this study, we synthesized TiO2 decorated activated carbon using a native mulberry by introducing thiol groups on a native mulberry. The obtained photocatalyst was characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The photocatalytic activities of the prepared activated carbon–TiO2 catalysts were evaluated under UV irradiation of organic dye degradation.
