제목 Control of the Crystallinity and Crosslinking of Poly(vinyliden fluoride) Nanofiber for Robust Sperhydrophobic Fabrics
초록 Superhydrophobic surface with a water contact angle higher than 150° has been intensively studied for many practical applications. Recently, a great deal of research has been devoted to the superhydrophobic surfaces by using electrospining. However, the shape stability against solvent and mechanical strength of the superhydrophobic nanofiber was rarely investigated. In this presentation, we demonstrate the self-sustaining robust superhydrophobic nanofiber mats by electrospining of poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) containing tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS). Shape stability against solvent and mechanical strength of PVDF nanofiber mats dramatically increases with crystallinity of PVDF and cross-linking of TEOS without the change of water contact angle of ~ 156°. This simple process which uses the cross-linking of TEOS among polymer chains can be applicable to generally used engineering polymers for chemically and mechanically robust nanofiber mats.
