Nowadays, heightened on the brick of being exhausted petroleum resources, the study about alternative energy is actively underway. So biodiesel as one of alternative energy mostly is studied, the transestrification is using oils, alcohols and catalyst as the reactant to produce biodiesel. Oil is used as eco-friendly energy utilizing chiefly vegetable oils or animal fats. Animal fats was dumped as mainly feedstuffs or waste. However, it was more stable than vegetable oils in oxidation, and was getting attention as an alternative of vegetable oils due to the advantages having high heating value and cetane number. Therefore, in this study, biodiesel based animal fats having lots of saturated fatty acids was produced using methanol and ethanol. This experiments were performed in some variables which were alcohol/animal fats molar ratio (6~15), reaction temperature (45~75℃), and so on. |
