제목 Anisotropic Thermal Conducting Properties of Smectic Liquid Crystal Materials
초록 For the development of anisotropic heat transfer materials, liquid crystal monomer PNP-6MA was synthesized. PNP-6MA presents smectic A (SmA) liquid crystal (LC) mesophase with high degree of positional and directional orders of mesogenic core. Thermal conducting liquid crystal (TCLC) films were successfully fabricated through chemical stabilization of the isotropic and anisotropic phases of PNP-6MA into 3-dimensional networks. TCLC films exhibit high thermal conductivity up to 1.21 W/mK. The directional order of PNP-6MA molecule in the polymeric network was adjusted by in-situ photopolymerization under strong magnetic field. The thermal conductivity value of uniaxially aligned TCLC film was estimated to be 2.5 W/mK along the director of mesogen.
