제목 | Synthesis of RGO-TiO2-ZnO composite and investigation of its photocatalytic acitivity |
초록 | Graphene, a single layer of sp2 bonded carbon atoms network tightly packed into a two dimensional honeycomb pattern is highlighted in research because of its electrical, mechanical and thermal properties. Some semiconductors (e.g., ZnO, TiO2 etc.) can act as photocatalysts for light-induced chemical transformations due to their unique electronic structure composed of a filled valence band and an empty conduction band. Graphene-based semiconductor photocatalysts have attracted extensive attention for their potential in environmental and energy-related applications. In this work, we combined the most attractive reduced graphene oxide (RGO) together with TiO2 and ZnO semiconductor to investigate the photocatalytic activity of this composite. Synthesis of this composite is helpful for the exfoliation of RGO and as well as enhancement of photocatalytic activity of TiO2 and ZnO. RGO-TiO2-ZnO composite has been synthesized by hydrothermal treatment at pH 11. We have used graphene oxide (GO) as a precursor of RGO, which obtained from graphite powder by improved Hummers’ method. The obtained composite was analyzed by SEM, EDS, XRD and etc. the photcatalytic performance investigated by photocatalytic reduction of Cr(VI) under UV light irradiation. |
