Hydrolysis and condensation reactions of organotrialkoxysilane have been investigated extensively to prepare different types of silicone products; ladder like polymers, network polymers, and polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxanes (POSS). Among them, silicones substituted with phenyl group attracted interests due to their high thermal resistance and high refractive index. Research objectives in our laboratory have been preparation of silicone powders with diameter of several micrometers with various compositions. Powders with multi micrometer diameters may find applications in different areas including cosmetic products. |
