OFETs have tremendous potential for wide range device applications. Among π-conjugated semiconductors, self-assembled nanostructures of solution-processible oligomers have been robustly investigated. Here, we synthesized novel organic materials containing 1,4;5,8-naphthalene-tetracarboxylic diimide (NTCDI), as a π-conjugated core. We also introduced two hydrogen association units (HA) between NTCDI core and 3,4,5-tridodecyloxy-phenylamine end-groups. Structural analyses were performed for NTCDI derivative samples cast from various solvents. It was found that nanostructures of the NTCDI derivative with HA (NTCDI-HA) are drastically transferred with an increase in the solvent polarity. For example, dichloroethane as a polar solvent induces helical supramolecule of the NTCDI-HA, while non-polar toluene drives rectangular nanoribbons. In order to investigate the structure-dependent conductivity of the self-assembled NTCDI derivates, we performed conducting-probe atomic force microscopy. |
