제목 Improved toughness of epoxy resin blended with polyimide
초록 In this study, epoxy resin (diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A (DGEBA)) was blended with polyimide (PI) to enhance the toughness characteristics. And their curing dynamics and mechanical properties were investigated. The DGEBA/PI blend system was made from 100:0 to 0:100 wt.% of DGEBA: PI. Thermal properties of each sample were measured by TGA and DSC, and curing behavior and activation energy were measured by Kissinger and Ozawa method. Also, Izod impact test was performed according to ASTM D 256 of ASTM international standard, and the fractured surface of the sample was observed using a scanning electron microscope (SEM) after the impact strength test. The experimental results show that the toughness of epoxy resin improved after blended with suitable amount of PI.
