제목 New strategy toward enhanced air electrode for LI-air batteries
초록  Li–O2 batteries comprise one of the most promising new technologies among the various next-generation energy storage systems because their energy density is several-fold higher as compared to that of commercial Li-ion batteries. However, they still face fundamental and practical challenges such as low rate capability, limited cycle life resulting from the instability of the electrode and electrolyte, and significant overpotential on charging due to the slow kinetics of dissociation for the reaction products (such as Li2O2). In this study, the combination of polydopamine-coated carbon and a dissolved catalyst (LiI) was postulated as a new strategy toward an enhanced air electrode for Li-air batteries. The combination of two approaches is expected to improve the electrochemical performance due to enhanced wettability by the electrolyte and the effective catalytic activity of the LiI.
