In this study, by using electrospinning technology, poly (vinyl alcohol) (PVA) and chitosan blend nanofibers containing silver nano particles were successfully fabricated by two different ways. In the first way, Ag nanoparticles was fabricated by the reduction of Ag+ ions in PVA/ silver nitrate (AgNO3)aqueous solutions, then, the resulting solution was blended chitosan solution at the ratios of 9/1 and 8/2, thereafter these blends were directly electrospun. In the another way, the PVA/chitosan nanofibers electrospun from aqueous PVA/chitosan/AgNO3 solutions with the same ratios was annealed to generate Ag nanoparticles. The differences in diameterof Ag nanoparticles in the nanofibers between two pathways was found. |
