Improving carbon dioxide fixation efficiency of microalgae using a sequential operating system in a tubular photobioreactor |
초록 |
Carbon dioxide fixation by microalgae photosynthesis using actual flue gas is an alternative strategy to mitigate climate change due to greenhouse gas emissions. In our study, Haematococcus pluvialis and Chlorella sorokiniana were used for converting CO2 into high valuable second metabolites. Two types of operating system (simple and sequential) were examined in order to improve the carbon fixation efficiency from flue gas in a photobioreactor. As a result, a sequential strategy was the best operating system for carbon dioxide sequestration using microalgae under photoautotrophic conditions. In the system, carbon fixation efficiency was increased from 24% to 89% (Haematococcus pluvialis) and 20% to 65% (Chlorella sorokiniana). A sequential operating system is a promising strategy for improving CO2 capture from flue gas using microalgae and minerals in a tubular photobioreactor. |
