Photo-patternable ultra-thin polymer blend dielectrics driven with low temperature processing for the fabrications of organic complementary circuits |

We report here a simple route to patterning an ultra-thin and cross-linkable polymer blend dielectrics for application in organic field-effect transistors (OFETs). A low temperature cross-linkable silane cross-linking reagent is blended with photo-curable polymer to control photo-chemical and thermal cross-linking individually. Spin-coated the blend dielectrics are firstly photo-cured with ultra violet light, which enables fine film patterning via regular photo-lithography and then the remaining films are thermally cured to enhance electrical strength in the temperature of 110 oC. The resultant patterned dielectrics showed excellent insulating properties within ultra thin film thickness of less than 60 nm, reducing operating voltages of OFETs to be 5 V. Using the blend dielectrics we have fabricated organic complementary inverters with the p-channel semiconductor of pentacene and the n-channel semiconductor of C60. |
