제목 The Corrosion Behavior of Stainless Steel in Heavy Liquid Metal
초록 Liquid metals are used in nuclear field as coolant materials. According in recent proposals lead and lead-bismuth alloy can advantageously be used as coolant material in fast reactor and fusion reactor systems. They are also interesting as target materials for spallation neutron sources.
Being developed in KAERI (Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute), HYPER (HYbrid Power Extraction Reactor) adopts a fast neutron system and lead-bismuth alloy is used as reactor coolant and target material. But the main uncertainty with regard to heavy liquid metals as reactor coolants has been the stability of structure materials when exposed for long periods at high temperature. The purpose of this study is to obtain the necessary information in this area.
In this study, the corrosion behavior of type 316LN stainless steel specimens in lead-bismuth eutectic has been studied using stagnant corrosion test facility. We performed the test at 500 and 650℃ with three different oxygen contents. The exposure time was 500 and 2000hours.
