In this study, we developed ‘heat-compression method’ as new processing technique of the commercial Nafion membrane besed on its thermal behaviors. And thickness control of Nafion, ranging from 45 μm to 1500 μm, was reproducibly achieved by this method with Nafion 112, 115, and 117. It still sustained ion-exchange capability and had chemically continual cross-sectional linkage with same functionality. Each of its ionic aggregates could be incorporated in each joining surface, following which, in hydrated state, directly lead to linking cluster network. Due to developing process of ionomers, it will lead to wide applicability of Nafion in electrochemical devices. |
