Barium Titanate (BaTiO3, BT) exhibits higher piezoelectric behavior aided by the stretching of dipoles from its central Ti atom when external electric field is applied. However, the brittleness and non-flexible nature of the BT ceramic film limits its fabrication processes to a great extent. So, we dispersed BT nanoparticles (NPs) in polylactic acid (PLA) which is well-known for its biocompatible and biodegradable properties, and due to its flexible nature, it can be mixed with BT to obtain desirable results. Additionally, we also observed piezoelectric phenomenon of neat PLA electrospun nanofiber webs from the piezoelectric signal data. In this study, we prepared more suitable electrospun conditions and analyzed their piezoelectricity data obtained under the periodic external pressures. A variety of fabrication methods to enhance piezoelectric properties for applications will be discussed in detail. Acknowledgement: This work was supported by the MOTIE (Grant No. 10044953). |
