Morphology and physical properties of PA/ PPO/Multiwalled carbon nanotube nanocomposites |

Polyamide(PA)/Polyphenyleneoxide(PPO) blend has been used in many automobile parts, such as an electro-deposition paintable fender. It demands high electrical conductivity and mechanical properties. Recently, MWCNT(Multiwalled carbon nanotube) was employed to improve electrical and mechanical properties. In this study, PA/PPO/MWCNT nanocomposites were prepared by melt mixing using twin screw extruder. Electrical resistivity and mechanical property of PA/PPO/MWCNT nanocomposites were measured by resistance tester and universal testing machine(UTM), respectively. By incorporating SEBS-MA as a compatibilizer, impact strength was remarkably improved in PA/PPO/MWCNT nanocomposites. Fracture surface was observed by using scanning electron microscopy(SEM). Thermal property was measured using diffrential scanning calorimeter(DSC). |
