PVA/Col Nanofibers were prepared by blending of Poly (vinyl alcohol) (PVA) which is ecofriendly polymer and Collagen that has biocompatibility and biodegradable. They were obtained by electrospinning technics. Because PVA is soluble in water, PVA/Col Nanofibers require crosslinking. In this study, Non-toxic Citric acid was used as a crosslinking agent. The Crosslinking and swelling ratio of PVA/Col nanofibers were measured by adjusting the amount of collagen compared to PVA and the amount of citric acid. The morphology of PVA/Col nanofibers was analyzed by Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) analysis was performed to confirm the cross-link between citric acid and PVA/Col blending composites. As the amount of collagen increased, crosslinking did not occur, and the swelling ratio did not differ significantly. The more citric acid was added, the lower the swelling ratio. |
