Regioregular poly(3-alkylthiophene) (rr-P3AT) is one of the most promising conducting polymers for electronic devices, chemical sensors, and photovoltaic cell, because of its good electronic properties and solubility for common solvents unlike other conducting polymers. P3AT blends with other polymers have been studied intensively to improve their processability and mechanical property. In this work, we have investigated phase behavior of rr-P3ATs and polystyrene (PS) blends. This blend with lower molecular weights exhibits an upper critical solution temperature (UCST). We discuss the miscibility in terms of the alkyl chain length of rr-P3ATs. |
