제목 Synthesis and characterization of low-band-gap poly(thienylenevinylene) derivatives for photovoltaic devices
초록 Recently, many different types of conjugated polymers such as polythiophenes, polyfluorenes and polycarbazoles have been used for photo-active layers in organic solar cell devices. In order to produce highly efficient organic photovoltaic cells, these materials should have high absorption coefficient and wide absorption range in solar spectrum to generate large amount of excitons. For this reason, donor-acceptor type conjugated polymers are widely used for lowering the band gap of polymers, because this concept can stabilize the quinoid form of a polymer, thereby reducing the band gap. In this presentation, we demonstrate the synthesis and characterizations of Poly(thienylenevinylene) derivatives including homopolymers and copolymers with electron-accepting benzothiadiazole units for lowering the band gap. Indeed, the copolymers were observed broadening light absorption spectrum and lowering band gap, finally demonstrated the better efficiencies than homopolymer-device.
