High-Performance Organic Thin-Film Transistors froma New Poly(thienylenevinylene) Derivative with Oxidative Stability |

Organic thin-film transistors (OTFTs) fabricated by solution processes such as spin-coating have many advantages such as low-temperature manufacturing, and large-area fabrication. A wide range of polymer semiconductors has been reported in literatures as promising materials for OTFT application. However, most of current polymer semiconductors have lower performance and lower oxidative stability. We synthesized a new thienylenevinylene (TV) containing copolymer, PETV12T, that has good oxidative stability. In this polymer, a TV unit is regioregularly inserted between alkylthiophenes. PETV12T has good solution processability and high structural organization property. AFM image clearly demonstrates nanocrystalline fibrils after annealing. PETV12T exhibited a high mobility above 10-1 cm2/Vs. The OTFT device of PETV12T also showed relatively stable performance during 30 days under ambient conditions. These results indicate that polymer is a promising semiconductor for printable electronics. |
