제목 Effectof Electron Beam Irradiation on Superabsorbent Behaviors of CarboxymethylCellulose
초록 Superabsorbent materials derived from synthetic polymers will cause various environmental problems. In this study, echo-friendly superabsorbent materials were prepared from a mixture of carboxymethyl cellulose(CMC) as raw material and different concentration of citric acid(CA) as cross linking agent through electron beam irradiation(EBI). The results showed that 10 wt%CMC/ 2, 4wt%CA sample obtained using 20 kGy of EBI showed the highest gel fraction value of over 95%, and represented the highest swelling degree of around 7000%. Also, the swollen 10% CMC/2% CA gel decreased steadily to around 63% of the initial absorbed water during 7 h, since then, still remained around 60%.
