An epoxide group of LCE monomer reacted with an amine group of 4, 4'-diaminobiphenyl and thus this system formed a hydroxyl group which acted as a catalyst on the cure reaction of other epoxide and amine group. The cure rate and kinetic parameters for liquid crystalline epoxide(LCE)/diaminobiphenyl system were studied using the data of differential scanning calorimetry(DSC) analysis and Kissinger equation. The melting of LCE/DABP systems were started to similar temperature regardless of the molar ratios and the initial curing temperature increased as the heating rate increased. The activation energy of LCE/DABP systems were 1.08×105, 6.62×104, and 7.06×104 kJ/mol and pre-exponential factor were 1.19×1014, 6.51×108 and 3.06×109sec-1 for the molar ratio of 1/1, 2/3 and 1/2. |
