A Light-driven bending in an azobenzene-containing supramolecule nanowire |
초록 |
Photomechanical soft actuators have attracted great attention because of their meritorious wireless and rapid actuation properties as well as their applications in robotics, artificial muscle and biomedical engineering. Even though realized in macro- or micro scale one dimensional (1D) structure, photomechanical actuators are largely unexplored as 1D nanowire (NW). In this study, we developed a single photomechanical supramolecular NW actuator that employs the azobenzene-containing tris(4-((E)-phenyldiazenyl)phenyl)-benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxamide (Azo-1). Single Azo-1 NWs undergo bending upon irradiation with UV light that is reversed upon visible light irradiation. The kinetics of the actuation response corresponds the first-order kinetics of azobenzene photoisomerization, implying that the bending of NW is linked to the molecular level transition. A wireless photomechanical NW tweezers that remotely manipulates a single micro-particle was also developed. |
